1. 通常用作方式副詞,修飾動作的方式。
He doesn’t dress half so strangely as Tom. 他衣著的奇異不及湯姆的一半。
He looked at me really strangely. 他非常奇怪地看著我。
有時也可修飾除動詞以外的其他詞語。如 :
The house was strangely quiet. 這所房子靜得出奇。
Such optimism has become strangely out of place. 這種樂觀變得怪異而不合時宜。
On certain important details the report remains strangely silent. 這份報告在某些重要的細(xì)節(jié)問題上只字未提,莫名其妙。
2. 有時還可用作句子副詞,修飾整個句子,此時通常后會接enough.
Strangely, the idea that she might have left Berlin did not occur to me until I got to the station. 奇怪的是,在我到達(dá)車站之前,我從沒想到她可能已經(jīng)離開柏林了。
Strangely (enough), I’ve never seen that TV programme. 說也奇怪,我從未看見那個電視節(jié)目。
